How to Check Scanner COM Port
To work with the production log in COM port mode, or to work with a laser projector, you need to know which COM port your scanner is using.
To find this out, you need to follow these steps:
Check which mode your scanner is operating in. To do this, you can open any text editor on your computer (for example, Notepad)

When you open it, try scanning any barcode. If some text is entered, then the scanner is operating in keyboard mode. You need to switch its operation mode to COM port mode. With any scanner, the manufacturer typically provides an operating manual and technical barcodes, including those for switching to COM port mode.
If the scanner is operating in keyboard mode - switch it to COM port mode. If you encounter difficulties, you can contact technical support.
Find out your scanner's COM port.
To do this, open Device Manager.

In it, find the "Ports (COM & LPT)" tab and open it.
If your scanner is connected and operating in COM port mode, it will be displayed as "USB Serial Device (COM[your COM port number])"
Look at the COM port number - this is the digit after the word COM.

Important! "Serial Port (COM1)" - this is not what you need.
The COM port number in the screenshot is 4.
