Bar code scanner malfunctions
In this article we will give the way of diagnostics of wireless scanner Mertech CL-2210 (suitable for CL-610). An article on how to set up such a scanner is available at the link.
For any malfunction of the scanner, follow the steps below:
Charging the battery:
Make sure the scanner is sufficiently charged. When the battery level is low, the scanner beeps four times. Charge the device using the micro-USB cable. A red light indicates that charging is active and a green light indicates that charging is complete.
Check the connection:
Make sure that the scanner is properly paired with the receiver (scanner stick). If it is not paired, an error sound will be heard during scanning. There is a barcode sticker on the receiver. And on the other side there is a blue LED - if it is on, the scanner is paired. If not, scan the barcode on the receiver and wait until the LED lights up.
Try restarting your computer and scanner:
There may be some problem with the connection and it will fix itself after a reboot.
Scan History Table:
If the scanner is running and the correct scanning sound (single "peak") is played during scanning, but the correct ceiling is not entered in the laser program or production log, you need to look at the bottom of the program where the history table is located. What errors are displayed in it?
No errors:
The scanner may not be connected correctly. If it is connected through the COM port, check the connection using the HoneyWell scanner instructions or the instructions for Mertech scanners.
Or perhaps the scanner is enabled in keyboard mode, but the window where to enter the barcode is now inactive.
Instead of sending a ceiling, calibration mode is enabled or other obscure things are happening: you probably have the scanner enabled in keyboard mode, but the barcode entry window is not running
Unable to connect to barcode scanner on COM port:
The scanner may not be connected properly or may have disconnected from the port. Check the connection according to the instructions for Honeywell scanners, and the instructions for scanners
When scanning, some "gibberish" (wrong ceiling number) is entered:
Your barcode contains Russian letters, but EasyCeiling settings do not enable Russian language support in the barcode
You do not have the English keyboard layout running
When scanning, a certain error text is displayed:
Send this text to us with a description of the situation, and we will figure it out together.
