Scaling Settings

Some clients contact us with questions:

  • How to increase the font size in the program?

  • Why are some buttons large while the text is small?

  • Text in the program "overlaps" each other, how to fix it?

All these questions are related to screen scaling in Windows. Examples of incorrect scaling are below:

Incorrect scaling examples

This is related to Windows not being able to correctly scale all program elements.

This can be fixed in two ways. General (simple) or configure separate scaling for the program.

Method 1. Changing the scale of the entire system

  1. Right-click on an empty area of the desktop and click "Display settings"

  1. In the opened window, set the scale to "100%"

  1. Restart your computer and launch EasyCeiling.

  2. Open display settings again and set a lower resolution until the text size satisfies you.

Method 2. Changing the scaling of a specific application

On some high DPI displays (dots per inch), some applications may display blurry fonts or fonts may appear small. Additionally, images and buttons may also be of different sizes, which significantly complicates working in the program.

But what if you need to change the scale of only one application, not the entire screen? There is a solution to this problem, and it consists of several simple steps. Let's go through them all in order.

  1. Right-click on the program shortcut that we are scaling (In our case, it's EasyCeiling).

  2. In the opened window, select Properties → Compatibility → Change high DPI settings

  3. Check the first box "To fix scaling problems... use this setting" and in the dropdown list select "I will open this program"

  4. Check the second box "Override high DPI scaling behavior..." and in the dropdown list select "System (Enhanced)".

  5. Click OK and then "Apply".

Done, the system will scale the program as needed.
