Construction of Basic Ceiling Forms

Video: YouTube, RuTube

The EasyCeiling program allows you to construct ceilings in different ways.

For example, you can construct a basic ceiling form and then apply modifications from additional forms to it.

On the basic forms tab, you can draw a ceiling in the following ways:

  1. Enter side 1 and side 2 and construct a rectangle, circle, cone, ellipse, semi-ellipse, or heart based on them.

  2. Enter the number of angles and set the side lengths, then:

2.1) Enter diagonal lengths

2.2) Enter angles (in degrees: 45, 90, 135, 170 or manually)

"Wall Measurement" button - allows using the wall measurement method during construction. It is used when measuring panels and inclined ceilings, where the front surface is measured directly, not its projection. When the button is pressed, a warning window appears: when enabling the wall measurement method, all existing constructions will be canceled. Continue?
When canceling the measurement method, a warning window also appears. When canceled, all constructions will also be canceled.
To construct a ceiling using side lengths, diagonals, and angles, you need to use the "Vertices" sub-tab.

For this, you need to set the number of angles and, if necessary, change the value of the last angle. Then click the "Apply" button with the compass image. For example, I enter 6 in the number of angles, and the last angle - "F". I click the apply button.
After these actions, our sides appear in the table on the left. Next, to construct the ceiling, you need to specify the lengths of sides and diagonals either in the "Table" tab or in the "Tree" tab. You can also construct the ceiling through the "Angles" tab.
Construction example: in the "Tree" tab, I enter the following side values:
AB: 200
BC: 200
CD: 100
DE: 100
EF: 100
AF: 100

And, let's say we know that angles A, B, and C = 90 degrees. Therefore, in the "Angles" tab, we set the corresponding values. The remaining angles D, E, F are automatically adjusted. Despite this, we can still change the values for these angles.

The ceiling drawing was constructed in the form of a square, but what if we want to construct an "L" shaped ceiling? In this case, we need to change the automatically set values for certain angles. In our case, we'll set the value for angle "D" to 90 degrees as well. Immediately after this, the program constructed the necessary ceiling for us.

Additionally, there is the ability to change units of measurement. Calculations are set to centimeters by default, but you can also set millimeters, inches, or feet.

There is also the ability to disable automatic drawing construction when entering a value, and to change letter vertex designations to numerical ones by enabling or disabling the corresponding options at the bottom of the table.

The "Manual Construction" button allows modifying the drawing in an arbitrary form or constructing from scratch based on any data (for example, based on an image). The "Manual Construction" module is an additional paid module and is purchased separately. You can learn more about the manual construction module in the corresponding article.

The "Import from DXF" button. Allows loading a ceiling file in DXF or DWG format, constructed in a third-party program such as AutoCAD, Archicad, KOMPAS without losing information into the EasyCeiling program. It is also an additional module and is purchased separately. You can learn more in the corresponding article.

Quick Construction

Quick ceiling construction is available based on rectangle, circle, cone, ellipse, semi-ellipse, and heart. It is constructed based on either one or two radii. Or based on one or two sides.

other forms are available through the 'Assistant'

For example, let's construct a rectangle with sides 300 by 500. We'll enter the corresponding values and click the "Construct Rectangle" button. The ceiling was automatically constructed. This took only a few seconds.

When constructing an ellipse or semi-ellipse, you also need to specify the number of angles in the drawing. The more there are, the smoother and more even the ceiling sides will be, but the more angles there will be in the end.

Operations, Scale

The "Build Step by Step" button - allows constructing the drawing step by step. The program shows you each angle and asks if it is constructed correctly. If not - it rebuilds it, if yes - moves to the next angle. And so on until the entire ceiling is constructed. This operation only works if the side lengths are already set.

The "Mirror" button - mirrors the drawing.

The "Rotate" button rotates the drawing 90 degrees clockwise.

On the "Scale" tab:

The "Zoom In" and "Zoom Out" buttons scale the drawing accordingly.

The "Full Screen" button sets the drawing scale so that it fits on the screen.

Assistant

The "Assistant" button opens a window for constructing ceilings. It has two tabs: "By Dimensions" and "Quick Forms". On the first tab, you can quickly set the number of angles in the ceiling to then set the necessary values and construct the drawing. On the second tab, you can construct the drawing using one of the quick forms: "Rectangle", "Circle", "Ellipse", "Semi-ellipse", "Cone", "Heart"
