Construction through Side Lengths and Diagonals

If construction will be done by entering sides and diagonals, you need to specify the number of angles and click the "Build" button, after which a table and a tree of sides will be formed for entering length values in centimeters.

The main mechanics of construction through entering side dimensions, diagonals, and angles is that each angle must be in a known triangle. Each angle must be in a triangle where either all sides are known, or two sides and the angle between them are known.

There are three ways to enter side lengths and diagonals:

  1. Table - side names are automatically assigned, but diagonal names must be entered manually;

  2. Tree - contains all variants of sides and diagonals, which allows avoiding manual entry of side and diagonal names, and also provides automatic transition to the next size in order when entering the current one and pressing "Enter" (this applies to both sides and diagonals);

  3. Angles - allows avoiding entering diagonal lengths if the angles (in degrees) between points are known, for example, there is a rectangle ABCD (AB=300;BC=500;CD=300;DA=500) and it is known that angle A=90 degrees, therefore diagonal BD=583.1, but note that entering an angle in degrees ONLY automatically calculates the corresponding diagonal.

If an excessive number of diagonals is entered and there are discrepancies in dimensions, an error may occur, which is displayed on the screen.

The program has several auxiliary functions:

• Wall measurement - used for wallpaper or ceilings on the wall, where measurements are taken from the front side, not the floor projection. If this button is pressed, the drawing is not mirrored during cutting and appropriate warnings for cutting are displayed;

• "Rotate" function - rotates the drawing 90 degrees clockwise;

• "Build step by step" function - allows building the drawing step by step "point by point", thus in complex situations transferring the responsibility of drawing construction to the user.

After constructing the drawing, you can manually adjust the desired points in the drawing by holding the left mouse button on the point to be changed and, without releasing the button, moving it to the desired location. After manual correction of the drawing, the error formed during drawing construction is calculated or recalculated.

ATTENTION: when rebuilding the drawing (changed at least one dimension in the tree or table), manual changes are reset and the drawing is rebuilt from scratch.
