Fabric Cutting with Shrinkage Consideration

On the "Cutting" tab, you can set the location of seams or combine the ceiling with several textures. If no texture is selected, you won't be able to switch to the "Cutting" tab, which will be indicated by a corresponding message.

Interface

  • Switching between ceilings in the order - arrow buttons switch between ceilings in order. Hot keys: PageUp and PageDown

  • Add text - place arbitrary text on the drawing, with font selection

  • Relative to segment - "places" the seam on the specified segment

  • Offset from points - allows making an offset from two specified points

  • Offset from segment - allows placing a seam with an offset from the specified segment

  • Fabric width - displays the width of the texture selected in the "order information" tab

  • Stretch coefficient - adjusts the shrinkage percentage

  • Multi-texture- applying multiple textures on the ceiling

  • Harpoon combination - allows using different harpoons for different sides. Video: YouTube

  • Laser projector - outputs the current fabric to the laser projector

  • Fabric placement - choose the placement of seams relative to room sides or selected segment

  • Scale - work with the visual scale of the drawing. You can also use the mouse wheel.

  • "Useful scraps will remain" - information from the additional module "Business Scraps"

Description

Seam placement. The user can choose any side relative to which the seams will be placed. As well as the "Relative to segment" field, available for manual input, which allows setting an ARBITRARY segment for seam placement (figure - seam parallel to diagonal AC).

For quick seam placement, the following modes are available:

  1. Fabrics parallel to segment - seams are set parallel starting from the specified segment;

  2. Fabrics perpendicular to segment - seams are set perpendicular to the specified segment. In this case, the first seam starts from the first point of the segment. For example, segment AB - the first seam will start from point A;

  3. Fabric centered on segment - the middle of the fabric is aligned with the middle of the specified segment;

  4. Seam centered on segment - the first seam is set in the middle of the specified segment;

  5. Fabric centered in room - in complex ceilings, you can specify an arbitrary segment. The algorithm will rotate the entire drawing so that the segment is parallel to the OY coordinate axis, and place the first FABRIC in the middle of the room;

  6. Seam centered in room - in complex ceilings, you can specify an arbitrary segment. The algorithm will rotate the entire drawing so that the segment is parallel to the OY coordinate axis, and place the first SEAM in the middle of the room.

If you need to set seam placement differently, you can use setting offsets from points of the specified segment or setting an offset from the segment up or down. The fabric width and stretch coefficients for X and Y are taken from the materials reference book.

If the "Allow changing shrinkage coefficient" checkbox is checked in the settings, then the stretch coefficients for X and Y will be available for manual change. This allows "playing" with seam placement and their quantity.

Example:

room size 203*320cm. Ordered Gloss texture 180cm (with standard stretch 194cm). This ceiling can be installed without seams, for this it's necessary to increase the shrinkage to 13% along the fabric width, i.e., along Y, and decrease to 5% along the fabric length, i.e., along X (you can leave the standard shrinkage if you're confident in your installation skills...)

Multi-texture - Automatic Seams

Automatic multi-texture allows combining colors and textures in a simple way - each fabric is a separate texture. Automatic multi-texture doesn't allow making an internal weld of a different color, only parallel bordering textures can be combined.

To add another texture, you need to select it from the list, specify the color, enter the desired texture width, and click the "Add" button. The entered texture width cannot exceed the width of the stretched texture.

To modify an already added texture or color, select it in the list, make changes, and click the "Edit" button.

To remove a texture from the list, select it and click the "Delete" button

Multi-texture - Custom Seams

Custom seams are part of the additional "Multi-texture" feature. Article.

This feature allows placing seams on the form in an arbitrary mode, making curved welds, inserts. Breaking the ceiling into various parts and placing seams in specific locations.

Multi-texture also includes a catalog of welds that allows storing and quickly applying common weld forms.
