♻️ Business Waste Accounting - reuse of scraps
The additional "Business Waste Accounting" feature allows tracking useful waste pieces that can be reused.
It is only available when working with network MS SQL Server database.
The feature allows you to:
This module can help you save material for creating ceilings, as well as it can:
Spend business scraps that may be left over after working with some ceilings again, for other ceilings matching the size of the scraps.
Print forms with useful residues that are obtained from some ceilings.
These leftovers go to the warehouse of such scraps and can be reused afterwards
Business Waste Settings
When starting to work with business waste, you need to configure it first.

Minimum Waste Area: if the area of the formed waste piece is less than the area specified in the settings - such waste is not saved.
Maximum Number of Corners: if the number of corners in the formed waste piece is greater than specified in the settings - such waste is not saved.
Minimum Waste Width/Length: if the overall width/length of the waste piece is less than specified in the settings - such waste is not saved.
Minimum Ceiling Area (without shrinkage): if the ceiling area is less than specified in the settings - new waste pieces will not be formed in it. Available starting from version 1.58.
Maximum Waste Storage Time: how many days from the waste creation date it is accounted for. After that, it is considered expired.
Waste Usage Percentage for Canvas: this parameter determines the minimum ratio of ceiling area to business waste area (taking into account material shrinkage) at which the system will use this waste for cutting. Prevents using large waste pieces for too small ceilings.

Examples:
Minimum percentage: 50%
Waste: 10 m²
Ceiling: 4 m² (shrunk) →
4/10×100%=40% → less than 50% → waste is not used.Ceiling: 6 m² (shrunk) →
6/10×100%=60% → more than 50% → waste is used.
The calculation always takes into account material shrinkage. That is, it compares not the original canvas area, but the shrunk one.
Print form with information about new waste: when printing production forms - also output a form with information about the created waste piece.
The following settings are available starting from version 1.58:
Allow editing business waste number: allows editing the waste number in the waste storage.

Print form for waste: A5 or A4. Allows choosing the print form format. When printing in A5 format - waste information is output at the bottom of the sheet.
Automatically confirm created waste. If waste was formed and added to the waste storage – it is considered unconfirmed and highlighted in red. It cannot be used until it is confirmed. Its barcode needs to be scanned in the waste storage or entered manually.
If this setting is enabled, all created waste pieces are immediately added to storage as confirmed and ready for use.

Automatically move waste to used list: if a ceiling can be made from business waste and this setting is enabled, then when the order status changes to "Closed" - this waste in storage is automatically moved to the used list.
Without this setting, all used waste needs to be moved to the used list manually – by scanning the order barcode in the waste log.
First apply waste created from the same order: when an order has ceilings from which new waste was formed, and has ceilings that can be made from these waste pieces – then waste for use will be taken from this same order first.
Enable waste accounting for all textures: if you enable this setting, an information message will appear.

Click "OK". If you have several storage locations, a window will appear to choose the storage (where to save waste for textures where storage location is not specified?). If there is only one storage location - it will be selected automatically.
If this setting is enabled, waste will be formed for all textures, regardless of whether the "Enable business waste accounting" checkbox is enabled for them.
Minimum ceiling area (without shrinkage) – If set to 0 – this setting has no effect. Otherwise, it sets the minimum ceiling area required for waste formation. If the ceiling area is less than specified in the setting - waste will not be formed in such a ceiling.
Next waste number. If you need to reset numbering and start it again from any number, you can change this setting. Numbering of subsequent waste pieces will start from it.
New waste calculation algorithm – link
Also in individual user settings there is an item "Prohibit working with business waste"
If this setting is enabled for a user, then during work:
- new waste is not formed
- waste is not applied for use in ceilings
- waste storage cannot be opened
- waste settings cannot be changed
- if a ceiling already has formed and saved waste - it can be viewed by going to the "Business Waste" print form

The following settings are available starting from version 1.59:
Ask if waste needs to be created - If this setting is enabled, when trying to create business waste in a ceiling - the program will ask if business waste needs to be formed. If you click no - waste will not be formed in the current ceiling. The message will appear again in this ceiling only if you go to another ceiling and back.
Ask if waste needs to be applied - Works exactly the same as the setting above, but for cases when there is business waste in storage that is suitable for application in the current ceiling.
These settings will not work if multiple ceilings are being printed at once.
Storage Location
After setting up the desired settings - you need to create a storage location for business waste in the program. To do this, let's open the business waste storage.

In the waste storage, immediately go to the "Storage Location" tab. Click the "+" button, name and save the storage location.
Texture and Color Settings
Next, you need to configure all necessary textures for which you want to enable business waste accounting.
To do this, let's open the texture directory.

For each texture and color - set the "Enable business waste accounting" checkbox and select the default waste storage location.
Waste Formation and Printing
Now, if the appropriate texture is selected, and the ceiling has waste pieces that meet the conditions specified in the settings - such business waste will be displayed in the Cutting section.

The corresponding inscription will also appear on the manufacturer's form

Let's print the manufacturer's form. After printing, forms of the formed business waste will be output, and the waste pieces themselves will appear in the waste storage.

Also, it should be noted that for waste to be formed, certain conditions must be met, namely:
- In the settings on the "Data" tab, the "Do not use order number for Calculation status" setting is disabled and the ceiling is in "New" status
- The above setting is enabled, and the ceiling is in "Calculation" status
- The ceiling's film is not written off
- The ceiling is marked as active
If one of these conditions is not met - you may see a message that waste will remain, but when printing the production form - waste will not appear in storage.
After waste is formed and appears in storage - it will be displayed regardless of the above conditions.
Waste Storage, Working with Ready Waste
Let's open the waste storage.

In the waste list, items can be colored differently.
Green - confirmed. They can be used in the process of making a new ceiling.
Red - unconfirmed. They were created but not yet confirmed. They cannot be used.
When scanning the barcode of an unconfirmed waste piece - a window will appear where the waste can be edited, confirmed, or deleted.
In the waste storage, these buttons are responsible for:
Plus. Create a new business waste piece manually.\
Edit. Change an existing business waste piece.\
Minus. Move a business waste piece to the used list.\
Print. Print a business waste form.\
Second minus. Delete unused waste from the business list.
