Computer Network Organization

The EasyCeiling program can connect to both a local database (used on a single computer) and a network database (used on multiple computers).

A network database is recommended when installing the program on two or more computers, as it offers several advantages:

  • Shared order database. Ability to maintain unified reporting

  • Shared catalogs. You only need to set up nomenclature and prices once, not on every computer.

  • Network database has higher performance and capacity.

  • Ability to integrate with 1C

  • Connect office and workshop to use the "Production Journal" and other modules.

When setting up a connection between computers that will use EasyCeiling with a network database, for maximum performance, follow these recommendations:

  • Use a wired connection, not Wi-Fi

  • Use quality network equipment: router and managed switch

Network setup options and other recommendations are described in the video: YouTube, Rutube

Another option for network development may be remote desktop technology (RDP), which allows you to open the desktop of a remote computer on your own.

What equipment to use?

First, you need to be prepared for the fact that computers and their components are consumables. They "wear out" not as often as printer cartridges, but still do not last forever. The main thing is your data: client catalogs, order databases, etc.

Data is stored on hard drives or SSDs, and even the best of them now come with a warranty of no more than three years. According to statistics, every business that has been operating for at least three years faces data loss: due to hardware failure or virus attack.

The optimal way to store data is to have a reasonably powerful computer with a network database on it, regularly make backups, and update disks every three years. For increased fault tolerance and to avoid downtime, you can take additional measures: for example, create RAID arrays from disks (simultaneous read/write on multiple disks).

One of the tools to protect your data is regular backups, which can be made using the EasyCeiling Backup Master
