Curved Section Settings

The perimeter of curves on the drawing is displayed on printed forms.

There are two ways to calculate this perimeter:

  • Non-automatic. The perimeter is calculated as the sum of curved section lengths, such as arcs. Also, in additional forms, there is a "Curved Section" object that allows you to specify which part of the drawing's perimeter (from point to point) is curved.

In this mode, if additional forms overlap each other, the perimeter is still calculated as the sum of sections, without subtracting the overlap area.

  • Automatic.

The program traverses the drawing based on the specified settings, and sections that fall under these settings are considered as curved perimeter.

Points on the curved perimeter section are not counted as corners. Article about corner calculation settings.

Curved Section Settings in Cost Calculation

This function is available to users who have purchased the additional "Cost Calculation" module

Before reading the article, watch the introductory video about the "Cost Calculation" module

A service with the value type "Curved Section" allows you to add the length of curved canvas sections to the cost calculation

Settings

To have this service automatically added to the cost calculation, you need to:

  1. Configure a service with the value type "Curved Section" and enable the "Automatically apply for calculation" parameter

  2. Set parameters in settings → tolerance → automatic curved section calculation, where:

inactive parameter "Use automatic curve calculation algorithm" means that the curved length will be calculated as the sum of curved form lengths, even if they overlap each other

active parameter "Use automatic curve calculation algorithm" means that the curved length will be calculated according to the following parameters:

  • maximum segment length

    - maximum angle in degrees

    - minimum number of segments

! parameter values in the screenshot are approximate

You can also manually specify a segment from point to point on the canvas that will be considered curved. To do this, apply the curved section additional form.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Curved Section is not displayed in the cost calculation.

  1. Make sure you have configured the corresponding service and enabled the "Automatically apply for calculation" parameter

  2. Make sure the above settings are configured according to your expectations.
